Ferar - Mangaluru, Aug 17 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Ferar Unit successfully organized the "YOUTH IGNITE 2024" event for the youth of St. Francis Xavier Church, Ferar, on August 11, 2024, at 9:15 AM in the Church Hall. The event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Fr. James Dsouza, the Director of ICYM Ferar Unit, Mr. Stephen Quadros, who served as both the Chief Guest and Resource Person, ICYM Animator Mr. Kevin Pinto, ICYM President Angel Pereira, and Secretary Sagon Noronha.
The event commenced with a heartfelt prayer song, setting a reverent tone for the proceedings. ICYM President Angel Pereira welcomed the gathering with warm words of encouragement. Rev. Fr. James Dsouza addressed the audience, expressing his admiration for the strong turnout of young people and delivering an inspiring message on the significance of "Youth Ignite." He also extended his best wishes to the youth, marking the occasion of National Youth Day.
Following the welcome address, ICYM Secretary Sagon Noronha expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the event's success with a well-delivered vote of thanks. The highlight of the program was a motivational talk by Mr. Stephen Quadros, who not only inspired the youth with his words but also engaged them in interactive games that added a lively spirit to the gathering.
In addition to the motivational segment, a "Red Drop Enlightenment" talk was organized by Pezar Deanery, led by Ransan Mendonca, Vice President of ICYM Ferar Unit. The session aimed to raise awareness among the youth about the importance of blood donation, emphasizing its vital role in saving lives.
A total of 42 enthusiastic young members of St. Francis Xavier Church, Ferar, participated in the event, making it a memorable and impactful experience. The event's proceedings were seamlessly coordinated by the Master of Ceremonies, Leona Cutinha.
