Moodbidri, Aug 4 : ICYM Moodbidri Unit in collaboration with Catholic Sabha Moodbidri Unit and various Commissions of the Church organised a "Drug and Criminal Activities Awareness Program" on 04th August 2024 at 9:00 am in the Corpus Christi Church Main Hall, Moodbidri.

President of the program V. Rev. Fr. Onil Dsouza, Resource person Mr. Sandesh P. G.- Circle Inspector of Moodbidri Police Station, Parish Council Vice-President Mr. Vincent Dsouza, Coordinator of the 21 Commissions Mrs. Celine Dsouza, Catholic Sabha Unit President Mr. Ronald Serrao, Secretary Mr. Clifford Dcosta, Commission Convener Mr. Emmanuel Monis, ICYM Golden Jubilee Convener Mr. Vincent Mascarenhas, ICYM Unit President Mr. Vian Dsouza, Secretary Ms. Ishal Rebello, ICYM Deanery President Mr. Javin Dsouza were present on the dais.

The program began with a hymn of the Holy Spirit. Then Mr. Emmanuel Monis welcomed the gathering. Mr. Ronald Serrao introduced the resource person Mr. Sandesh P.G. to the gathering. Later, a 45 minute informative session was carried on by the resource person who shed light on the difficulties that the youth face after getting addicted to drugs. He provided guidelines to the parents to take due care of their children from addiction and also made aware of the ways by which the children get into criminal activities. He also focused on the youth who go abroad after completing their studies and instead encouraged the youth to try for government jobs and police posts in their own country. After answering the questions from the audience, the informative session came to an end.

V. Rev. Fr. Onil Dsouza thanked Mr. Sandesh P. G. for the wonderful session filled with knowledge.

Finally, the program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Vian Dsouza. Ms. Melba Pinto compered the program.
