Bajpe, April 19, 2024 : The ICYM Bajpe unit celebrated its 51st Annual Day on April 10th, Wednesday in the St Jospeh Church premises.
The formal program commenced at 6:30 PM. The Chief Guest, the Diocesan Vocations Promoter and Rector of Kripa Sadana Minor Seminary Rev. Fr. Antony Clany D'Souza along with Parish Priest Rev. Dr. Ronald Cutinha, Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Dr. Ozmond Roshan D’Souza, Chaplain of St. John Paul II Shrine Rev. Fr. Anil Lobo, Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr. Stany D’Souza, Secretary Mrs. Gracy Sequeira, ICYM Pezar Deanery President Mr. Kevin Pinto, ICYM Bajpe unit animator Ms. Frenita Regina Tauro, ICYM Bajpe unit President Mr. Royston D’Souza, and Secretary Ms. Melria Saldanha were the dignitaries on the dais.
The annual day celebration began with a prayer song led by the ICYM members. Mr. Royston D’Souza, the ICYM President, welcomed the gathering. This was followed by a lamp-lighting ceremony by the dignitaries. The annual report was presented by Ms. Melria Saldanha, the ICYM Secretary. Chief guest Rev. Fr. Antony Clany D’Souza, addressed the gathering.
Mr. Roshan Sequeira & Ms. Asha Cutinha were felicitated for their outstanding achievements. Mr. Roshan Sequeira received the Goa Konkani Academy Award 2019 recently and has earned multiple awards for his contribution to Konkani Literature. Ms. Asha Cutinha successfully cleared the 2022 Civil Police constable examination & is serving as a constable at the Bajpe Police Station.
The Presidential address was given by the Parish Priest Rev. Dr. Ronald Cutinha. ICYM Cultural Secretary Ms. Jean Pinto delivered the vote of thanks. The ICYM treasurer Ms. Carol Lobo was the emcee.
The formal program was followed by a dance performance led by the ICYM members. On the occasion of the ICYM annual celebrations, a Tulu Drama 'Pudar Deedhand’ was presented to the audience by Devdas Kapikad and team. It was open to people from all communities. People from various communities in and around Bajpe drew attention to the Drama as spectators. The crowd was entertained by Devdas Kapikad and team with laughter, however it ended with an emotional climax.
