Belthangady, March 11 : The ICYM Belthangady Deanery, in collaboration with the ICYM Arva unit, organized "ದೈವಿಕ್ ಪರ್ಜಳ್" - Youth Retreat 2024 on March 3, 2024, from 9 am to 3 pm at St. Peter Claver Church Arva.

With the esteemed presence of Fr. Joswin D'Souza, Professor at St. Joseph Seminary, Mangalore, serving as the preacher, the event commenced promptly at 9 am with registration at the church mini hall, followed by a delightful breakfast.

The retreat officially began at 9:45 am with a brief inaugural ceremony, hosted by Preethi Vas. Supreeth Fernandes - President of ICYM Arva unit, extended a warm welcome to the assembled guests, including Mithesh D'Souza, President of ICYM Mangalore Diocese; Wilma Lobo, Secretary of ICYM Mangalore Diocese; and Rishal Priya Rego, Secretary of ICYM Puttur Deanery; Additionally, the renowned and melodious Blue Angels choir of Mangalore lent their harmonious voices, helping to elevate the collective praise and worship to the Lord.

In the spirit of the Lenten season, confession was facilitated at 11:45 am, emphasizing the significance of reconciliation during this sacred period. Following this, the Holy Eucharist Mass was celebrated, presided over by Fr. Praveen D'Souza, the ICYM Belthangady Deanery Director.

After the Mass, a hearty lunch was served, followed by adoration. The priest blessed and anointed all the youth with holy oil, offering prayers over them by laying hands on their heads.

A brief Valedictory ceremony, led by Elvin Prashanth D'Cunha - President, ICYM Belthangady Deanery, marked the conclusion of the retreat. ICYM Madanthyar Unit bagged the highest participation prize, while ICYM Venur Unit received the percentage - wise highest participation prize. Lavita Lobo, ICYM Belthangady Deanery secretary, conveyed the vote of thanks.

Approximately 130 enthusiastic youth actively participated in this spiritually enriching retreat.
