Moodbidri, Nov 10 : ICYM St. Matthew Deanery Moodbidri along with Lions Club - Moodbidri, MESCOM Sub Division - Moodbidri, Samaja Mandira Sabha - Moodbidri, and Alva’s Health Centre - Moodbidri organized “Blood Donation Camp” on 5th November 2023, at Samaja Mandir Moodbidri.

The programme began with a prayer service. Jossey Menezes - the President of Lions Club, extended a warm welcome to the gathering. V. Rev. Fr. Onil D’Souza –Director of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery, inaugurated the programme, along with Abhayachandra Jain - Former Minister, Mohan T. - Assistant Executive Engineer of MESCOM, Rajesh from Alva’s Health Centre, Sushmitha Shetty - HDFC Bank Branch Operational Manager and Brendon Cutinha - President of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery.

Following the inauguration, V. Rev. Fr. Onil Dsouza and Mohan T. addressed the gathering, emphasizing that in the past, people used to hesitate to donate blood, but now it has become a voluntary act by people of all classes. Additionally, Abhayachandra Jain, in his presidential speech, highlighted the significance of blood donation and stressed the importance of raising awareness about organ donation in addition to blood donation. He encouraged young individuals to step forward for blood donation while emphasizing that organ donation and other forms of contribution should be a personal choice and not something imposed upon anyone.

Brendon Cutinha proposed a vote of thanks. Approximately, 45 individuals took part in this blood donation camp.
