Mogarnad, Nov 8 : Deva Matha Youth Movement (ICYM), Mogarnad, in collaboration with Souharda Friends Amtoor and in association with Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh Mogarnad Unit, Christopher Association Mogarnad Unit, Red Drop Mangalore, and Fr. Muller’s Medical College, Kankanady, Mangalore, jointly organized a Blood Donation Camp on September 24, 2023, at Deva Matha Sabha Bhavana.
The event witnessed the presence of distinguished personalities including Fr. Anil Canute Dmello, Parish Priest and Director of DMYM, Abdul Rasheed Sa Adi, Kathib B.J.M Amtoor, Shri Manoj Kumar Kattemar, Shri Mantra Devata Sanidhya Amtoor, Mr. Santosh Dsouza, Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council, Mr. Wilfred Lobo, Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs. Emiliana D'cunha, Coordinator of all the commissions of the Church, Mr. Mohammad Asif, Secretary of Souharda Friends Amtoor, Mr. Kevin Rodrigues, Red Drop Representative of Mangalore Diocese, Dr. Priya Raj, Blood Bank Incharge of Fr. Muller’s Medical College, Mr. Edwin Passanha, President of Catholic Sabha, Mr. Robert Dsouza, President of Christopher Association, Mr. Prashant Lewis, Animator of DMYM, Avit Premson Lobo, President of DMYM, and Ruvina Glan Dcunha, Red Drop Representative of DMYM unit.
The event began at 10 am with a prayer song led by ICYM Members, and Mr. Prashanth Lewis extended a warm welcome to the attendees. The event was symbolically inaugurated, and Mr. Abdul Rasheed Sa Adi emphasized the idea that blood binds us together as a family. Shri Manoj Kumar Kattemar, another distinguished guest, highlighted the role of such events in promoting inter-religious harmony. Fr. Anil, the event's president, shared his thoughts on the significance of the event.
The formal program concluded with the dignitaries receiving mementos, and Ruvina expressed her gratitude. Nishmitha D'souza served as the master of ceremonies for the event.
Following the initial program, the blood donation camp commenced, with 56 registered participants, out of which 50 individuals generously donated blood. Donors and attendees were provided with breakfast and lunch, fostering a sense of satisfaction, unity, and above all, a profound sense of humanity throughout the day.
