Mangaluru, Oct 24 : The Bishop of Mangalore Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha made a cordial visit to Kudroli temple, Mangalore, on the occasion of Dasara festival on Monday, 23rd October 2023.
The visit was organised as a mark of gesture of religious harmony on an invite by Padmaraj R , Treasurer, Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Kshetra.
In his message the Bishop highlighted the need of harmony in the society and appreciated the preaching of Shri Narayana Guru, the founder of Kudroli temple.
The Kudroli festival also known as the Mangaluru Dusshera is now world famous and is second only to the renowned Mysore Dusshera.
Bishop also acknowledged that Mangaluru Dusshera is now a festival of people of all faiths and religions. True to the teachings of the great sage who believed in one caste one religion one God, the temple has now become a place of unity and communal harmony.
The Bishop was accompanied by Rev Rupesh Madtha, Roy Castelino - PRO Diocese of Mangalore, Alwyn Dsouza the President of Catholic Sabha, Mithun Sequeira, Sunil Kumar Bajal, Stanley D’Cunha Bantwal and others.
Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha and Shri U T Khader, Speaker, Karnataka Legislative Assembly were welcomed and greeted by Shri Sairam, President; Shri Madhava Suvarna, Secretary; Shri Hari Krishna, Bantwal; Shri Suryakant Jaya Suvarna and Shri Santosh Poojary, Trustees of Gokarnanatheshwara Kshetra.
