Bantwal, Sep 12, 2023 : The vibrant village of Shamboor came alive on September 10th as ICYM Shamboor Unit organized the much-anticipated "UBRANTH UDKANA SEASON 3" event on the occasion of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Held amidst the picturesque paddy fields of Joseph Lobo and Wilfred Lobo from Sacred Heart Ward, this event was a true celebration of togetherness.
The day started at 9:30 AM and lasted until 5:00 PM, packed with exciting activities and stage programs. The stage was graced by esteemed guests, including the Chief Guest, Fr. Santhosh Dsouza, the Director of ICYM Shamboor, and Father Javahar Jerry. Lancy Crasta, the Secretary of Shamboor Church, Melvin Pais, the ICYM Animator, Rithesh Lobo, the President of ICYM, Roy Pashan, the Secretary of ICYM Shamboor, and Vijaya Fernandez, Sports Secretary, along with the Gurkars of the four wards, were also present.
Joswin Veigas guided the audience as the Emcee, setting the tone for the day with a beautiful prayer song performed by Delvin Lobo and Sujai Lobo. Rithesh Lobo extended a warm welcome to all attendees, followed by inspiring speeches by Fr. Santhosh and Fr. Javahar Jerry. The Secretary then expressed gratitude to all the guests.
After the stage program, the event transitioned into an exciting series of individual and group games, creating a sense of healthy competition among the four wards: St. Antony Ward, St. Joseph Ward, St. Sebastian Ward, and Sacred Heart Ward. It was a day filled with joy and camaraderie, emphasizing unity among all parishioners. Mogarnad deanery president Praveen Dcunha and the secretary Shervin Vitla made a visit to the event.
The games continued until 5:00 PM, after which a thrilling prize distribution ceremony took place. St. Sebastian Ward emerged as the Overall Champion, with St. Antony Ward was the Runner-up, St. Joseph Ward secured 3rd place, and Sacred Heart Ward secured 4th place.
Secretary Roy Pashan expressed heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to the success of the event, especially Sujai Lobo, who coordinated all the games. The program concluded on a lively note with a spirited baila dance, leaving everyone with cherished memories of a day well spent.
