Vamanjoor, Sep 7 : The ICYM unit of St Joseph The Worker Church, Vamanjoor organized an event called "ViViDA ViTA – 2023" for the youngsters of the parish, at the Church hall on September 3, 2023. The primary objective of this program was to bring together the youth of the parish, encouraging them to exchange their ideas and energy with one another.
The event commenced at 8:30 AM with registration, followed by a breakfast. At 9:20 AM, the program officially started with a prayer song performed by ICYM members. The inauguration of the program was presided over by the parish priest and the program's president - Rev. Fr. James Dsouza, along with the assistant parish priest - Rev. Fr. Ivan Ashwin Dsouza, the vice president of the parish pastoral committee - Mr. Charles Pais, the secretary - CA Lovel, All Committee Convener - Mr. Anil Pinto, ICYM President - Preethika Dsouza, Secretary - Loystan Crasta, and the event coordinator - Priyanka Dsouza, all of whom were present on the dais.
Avineel Lasrado took on the role of Master of Ceremonies, and Preethika Dsouza, the president of ICYM Vamanjoor Unit, extended a warm welcome to all the attendees. The parish priest - Rev. Fr. James Dsouza, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of youth and their role in shaping the future of society.
Following this, an interactive session was conducted by the resource person, Mr. Manoj Fernandes, focusing on personality development and the benefits of being a part of YCS and ICYM.
The event saw the participation of ICYM city Deanery core committee members, who performed an action song to uplift the spirits of the youth. ICYM City Deanery director, Rev. Fr. Paul Sebastian Dsouza, also graced the event with his presence. Additionally, Mr. Winston Joel Sequeira, the former DEXCO Vice President, attended the event and engaged the youth in fun-filled games and action songs.
During the program, the youth were divided into 8 groups, and ICYM past president - Johnson Dsouza, organized a variety of exciting games and quizzes for all the participants.
Lunch was served at 1:00 PM, followed by water games at 2:00 PM. The water games included activities such as pipe relay, stepping stone-paper-scissor, hogathon, balloon savior, ball blower, and other exciting challenges. At 4:15 PM, the ICYM Vamanjoor youths delighted the audience with a flash mob performance, which was followed by a closing ceremony.
During the closing ceremony, ICYM animator Mr. Charles shared his thoughts on the program and congratulated everyone. Mr. Santhosh Agera, an active ICYM supporter, distributed prizes to the winners. Assistant priest Rev. Fr. Ivan Ashwin Dsouza expressed his gratitude, and ice creams were distributed to all the participants. The program concluded with an amusing rain dance.
