Mangaluru, July 15 : The atmosphere of St Raymond's Campus was filled with joy and happiness as they all joined together to commemorate the 103 years of their foundation day of Bethany Congregation. The celebration of Bethany Foundation Day commenced with the solemn Eucharistic Sacrifice held in honour of the Servant of God Msg. RFC Mascharenhas on 14th July 2023 at St. Raymond's Convent Chapel. It was indeed a wonderful event as they celebrated the dream of their Father Founder Servant of God Msg. RFC Mascarenhas, the man who lived his word and has left behind a legacy which today has spread all over the world. The selfless service of Father Founder inspired Bethany sisters to lighten the burden of the poor and marginalized with a compassionate heart and its fruits are reaped in Bethany educational institutions through shaping the life of thousands of young generations with the name Bethany education society.
Rev. Sr. Cecilia Mendonca, Provincial Superior and Corporate Manager, Mangalore Province presided over the function. In her presidential address she highlighted the role of every member of Bethany educational society, to carry forward the light lit by their beloved father founder for years to come and also to inculcate the qualities of Father RFC Mascarenhas that should be practiced by all who are connected with Bethany.
The Input Session addressed by Rev. Sr. Lilly Pereira, Provincial Councillor added more fragrance to the occasion. During the session, the sister narrated the circumstances that led to the foundation of Bethany Congregation, The dream of father Founder, his vision and the responsibilities of members of Bethany Educational Society towards the holistic growth of every child who enters the portals of St Raymond's Campus.
The Presence of Sr. Shubha BS, Coordinator for Educational Apostolate Mangalore province and Correspondent of St Raymond's institution and Rev. Sr. Vithalis, Superior, St. Raymond's Convent and local manager of the campus added more color to the celebration. All the spearheads of St. Raymond's institutions and sisters serving as faculty were present on this occasion. All the sisters of Bethany congregation were thanked for their selfless service towards the growth of this Congregation. Program was initiated by Sr Anita Lydia, Principal St. Raymond's P U College along with her staff. Mrs. Likitha anchored, Mrs. Mercy extended a heartfelt welcome to the gathering. Mrs. Carmel proposed the vote of thanks.
