Madanthyar, May 22 : On 18th May 2023, Sacred Heart Institutions and local organizations here held a Farewell and Felicitation ceremony for Rev Fr Basil Vas who served as the parish priest of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Madanthyar for 6 years and is now being transferred as the parish priest of Vorkady church. The program was held at Sacred Heart College Hall.

Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, the Bishop of Mangalore lauded the selfless service of Fr Basil Vas by taking everyone into confidence and winning the hearts of masses.

Fr Basil Vas was felicitated on behalf of Sacred Heart Institutions, Madanthyar Grama Panchayat, JCI & Rotary Madanthyar units.

Madanthyar Grama Panchayat president Shashiprabha, Secretary of The Catholic Board of Education (CBE) Rev. Fr Antony Shera, Sacred Heart College Principal Dr Joseph N.M., JCI Madanthyar unit president Ashok Gundyalke , Rotary Madanthyar Unit President Ronald Sequeira , Parish Council Secretary Jerald Moras , Old students' union president Francis VV , Madanthyar Merchants' union president Jayanth Shetty were present on the occasion.

Prof Prakash Kramadhari welcomed, Prof Alex Ivan Dsouza delivered congratulatory speech, Prof Paul Menezes proposed vote of thanks and Prof Nelson Monis compered the program.
