Mangaluru, March 27, 2023 : St.Ann’s Teacher Training Institute, one of the pioneering institutions of the Coastal Region of Karnataka celebrated its 133rd Annual Day here at the institution. The Programme began with a prayer dance followed by a welcome dance.

Mrs. Philomena Lobo, the chief guest of the function addressing the students, spoke on the greatness and the nobility of the teaching profession. She called upon the trainees to develop three things in life- Love for the profession, Constant evaluation and desire for continuous learning.

Sr. Marie Lucy A.C. the Joint Secretary of the institution spoke on valiant Woman Mother Veronica – the Founder of the Congregation who pioneered girls’ education in Coastal region and thereafter carried on by the sisters. In her address to the students she said that events like Annual day should not end with a day’s celebration, it should be carried on even in the future in their teaching profession. Sister congratulated the trainees for choosing such a noble profession and thanked the parents for their trust in sending their daughters to this institution which caters to their educational and all round development of its students.

Mrs Vidhya Shetty, the senior Lecturer, DIET, Mangaluru invited the trainees in her speech, to develop modern techniques of teaching in their classrooms.

Dr Sr Marie Prem D’Souza A.C. who presided over the function gave away a beautiful message to the students to equip themselves with modern, scientific developments in order to build up a better understanding about the needs of the present time.

Students were honoured for their achievements in Academics and various competitions held during the years.

To mark the Occasion of the Bi-Centenary of the birth of Mother Veronica- the Founder of the A.C. Congregation and the vision of education by Mother Aloysia A.C. the Founder of the College, a tableau titled “Bharavaseya Belaku” was presented by the students, which captured the audience. The tireless efforts of Mother Veronica in founding the Congregation and the daring works of Mother Aloysia A.C. the great educationist of the Congregation, remained imprinted in the minds and hearts of the students and the audience who witnessed this tableau. There were various variety entertainment programmes depicting the themes like Azadi Ka Amratmahotsav, Unity in Diversity etc.

Sr.Pramila A.C. the Principal of the college welcomed the guests, parents and invitees, as Mrs. Chaithra Y. proposed vote of thanks and Mrs. Shwethalatha and Ms.Chirashree compeered the programme.
