Shivamogga, June 17 : National Service of Communion (NSC), Delhi is organising a year long prayer rally for the Peace and harmony of our nation. Also praying for the upcoming general elections in all the 174 Dioceses of India. This was inaugurated on May 14th, 2023 by CBCI President His Grace Andrew Tazath, Archbishop of Archdiocese of Thrissur. It will conclude in February 2024 at Jeevan Jyothi Ashram, Burari, Delhi.
Karnataka Regional Service of Communion (KRSC) with help of the Diocesan Service of Communion (DSC) organising this rally in all the 14 Dioceses of Karnataka from June 14th to 24th, 2023.
Rally reached the Diocese of Shimoga on June 16th afternoon. With the blessings of Bishop of Diocese of Shimoga Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ, prayer rally was organised on June 16th together with the feast of Sacred Heart of Jesus at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga.
Parish Priest Fr Stany D'Souza together with DSC Coordinator received the prayer rally Crucifix at the entrance of the Cathedral. From 4pm to 5pm DSC and KRSC prayed together for the intentions. At 5pm Eucharistic Adoration was led by the seven member team who is accompanying the rally throughout Karnataka. Bishop Francis Serrao SJ led the Benediction.
After the Adoration Bishop Francis Serrao SJ together with priests celebrated the Solemnity of Sacred Heart of Jesus. He specially prayed for the peace and harmony in the Diocese as well as in the nation.
All the Seven members of DSC were present together with the coordinator Mr. David Raj.
Fr Pius D'Souza rendered his helping hand together with Cathedral Parish Priest Fr Stany D'Souza in the absence of Spiritual Director Fr Franklin D’Souza.
