Guwahati, Oct 24, 2023 : The National Conference Inauguration took place on October 23rd at 4:00pm at Guwahati by a procession led by the delegates from 14 Regions of India. The National Flag and the ICYM flag were Hoisted by the esteemed Most Rev. John Moolachira, the Archdiocese of Guwahati and President of the North Eastern Regional Bishops Council, followed by Most Rev. Ignatius Dsouza, Chairman of the CCBI Youth Commission  and Bishop of the Bareilly Diocese respectively. Rev. Dr. Stephen Alatara, Deputy Secretary General to CCBI inaugurated the Regional stalls which  showcased the unique traditions and diversity of different regions in India.

The event proceeded with the Inaugural Mass, celebrated over by Most Rev. John Moolachira, Archbishop of Guwahati Archdiocese, alongside Most Rev. Ignatious Dsouza, the Chairman of CCBI Youth Commission, and Rev Fr Sabu Francis, Provincial MSFS.  

Following the Mass, the official inaugural program commenced with the unveiling of the ICYM National Conference theme song by ICYM North East region. The inaugural program  showcased the cultural diversity of 15 dioceses from the North East region.

The event was graced by the distinguished  chief guest Smt. Dolly Reang, Hon'ble Executive Member, Department of Social Welfare & Education Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (TTAADD),  accompanied by Smt. Nandita Debarma Reang Hon'ble MLA, TLA Government of Tripura. Smt. Dolly addressed the youth concluding "Stand together and conquer using Bible as a weapon".
