Mangaluru, March 23 : On March 21, 2025, the Sports Association and NCC of St Agnes College organized a memorable visit to the Kanthavara Forest Base Camp, providing a unique opportunity for 45 students to connect with nature and learn about conservation.

Accompanied by three professors - Mrs. Gayathri, Dr. Tangarani, and Dr. Hithakshi - the group embarked on an enriching experience, guided by experts Mr. Arun, Mr. Jeeth, Mr. Bhuvan, and Ms. Liyane. The team provided valuable insights into the importance of forest conservation, sustainable water management, and the benefits of immersing oneself in nature.

The day-long excursion began at 7:45 am, as the group departed from the college, and concluded at 4:30 pm, with a newfound appreciation for the natural world. The visit included a scenic tour of the estate and forest, offering breathtaking views and a chance to spot local wildlife.

In a significant gesture, St Agnes College has adopted a plant species, "Theobroma Cacao", marking a commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability. This initiative aims to promote eco-friendly practices and raise awareness about the importance of preserving our natural heritage.

This initiative by the Sports Association and NCC not only promoted environmental awareness but also fostered teamwork, camaraderie, and a sense of responsibility among the participants.

The college community applauds the efforts of the organizers and participants, and looks forward to more such enriching experiences in the future.
