Kuwait, Feb 16, 2025 : Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) held “KCWA Cricket Cup 2025” on Friday, 14 February at DCC Grounds, Sulaibiya – Kuwait.
The tournament began by invoking the Lord’s blessings led by Roshan Rodrigues followed by a message from President Naveen Mascarenhas welcoming the teams, sponsors & guests gathered and requested their wholehearted participation in the tournament. The President together with the Management Committee members played a few deliveries and declared the tournament open. Prakash Gonsalves led the opening ceremony.
The tournament was held in 3 categories with 4 teams in Men’s regulars, 4 Teams in Men’s veterans and 4 teams in Women’s Regulars. A total of 12 teams participated in the tournament. The event was held exclusively for KCWA members and their Families. Over 250 members witnessed this event.

This year KCWA also awarded a trophy and medal to Hero of the Match, Impact Player of the Match in every league match also Best Bowler, Best Batter, Player of the Final, Best Captain and Fair Play Award for the best performer in the final match.

DCC Management led by Mr. Riston Robin Cardoza were the match officials and scoring officials for the tournament.
Jayson Dsouza led the final presentation ceremony followed by a vote of thanks proposed by Sports Secretory Prakash Pinto.
KCWA honored Angel D Costa medium pacer all-rounder cricketer for being a part of senior women Kuwait cricket for ICC Asia qualifier world cup. She was selected for U19 - BCCI Goa state Team as opener bowler all rounder and Player of the match against Hyderabad for an amazing spell. Currently invited for U23 high performance camp in Goa state BCCI and won bronze medal for state level in Goa for age 18 to 20 category. Her achievements have instilled a sense of pride within the Mangalorean community. She is a daughter of KCWA member Lavina Dsouza (Membership#2639).
The event concluded with the closing prayer led by Johnson D Almeida, thanking the Almighty for the pleasant weather and the successful conclusion of the "KCWA Cricket Cup 2025."

Alban Dsouza & Prashanth Ferrao Captured the moments for the day along with Allan Dsouza who provided everyone with the updates in social media. The Sounds system was provided by Roshan Rodrigues. KCWA thanks Mughal Tandoori Restaurant, Abbasiya for arranging the Breakfast and Lunch for the event. Special thanks to Prajwal Jaison Ferrao and Joseph Mascarenhas for the logistics support.
The tournament was well-coordinated by Sports Secretary Prakash Pinto along with Jayson Dsouza, with the support of the Sports Committee and Managing Committee members.
