Puttur, February 15, 2025 : In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, the rejection of technology is not an option, but responsible usage is imperative. Parents must provide proper guidance on technology usage while maintaining self-discipline. They should lead by example and create an environment that fosters independent thinking among children. Encouraging children’s achievements and providing them with opportunities for self-growth is important, stated Prof. Gajanraj Kumble, Principal of Sri Ramakunjeshwara College, Ramakunja. He was addressing parents on the topic ‘Technology in Education – Role of Parents’ at the Annual General Meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) at St Philomena Autonomous College, Puttur.
Presiding over the function, Very Rev. Lawrence Mascarenhas, Correspondent of the College, stressed the need for children to be aware of their technological engagement. He remarked that parents bear a significant responsibility in guiding their children towards the right path if they stray, ensuring their holistic growth—both physically and emotionally.
The event commenced with a prayer led by Assistant Professor Varija and her team. PTA President Yathindranath Rai P.D. welcomed. Principal Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro delivered the introductory remarks. PTA Secretary Prashanth Rai presented the annual report, and Treasurer Premalatha K. detailed the financial statements.
Vice Principal Dr Vijay Kumar Moleyar extended the vote of thanks. The selection of the new office bearers was conducted by Dr Radhakrishna Gowda. Mr Gerald D’Costa, Vice President of the Parish Council of Mai De Deus Church and a member of the College Management Committee also graced the occasion.
Assistant Professor Pooja Shree V. Rai compered the program. A captivating performance of Chande Vadana and Chakratala by students of the college enthralled the audience, adding a cultural touch to the occasion.
