Allipade - Bantwal, Oct 3, 2024 : On the 2nd of October, St. Antony English Medium School conducted a commemorative program at the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The programme started with an introduction to the importance of Gandhi Jayanti, leading to a soulful prayer that filled the atmosphere with serenity.
The Gandhi Jayanti celebration commenced with a solemn and reverential gesture, as our respected Headmistress, Sr. Lavina Veigas, led the students and staff in garlanding the photograph of Mahatma Gandhi. This poignant ritual signified our deepest respect and gratitude for the Father of the Nation, setting the tone for the rest of the program.
Aradya, a 7th standard student, delivered a heartfelt speech in Hindi about Mahatma Gandhi, highlighting his significance as the 'Father of the Nation'.
In her speech, Greeshma of Class 7th explored the transformative childhood experiences that moulded Mahatma Gandhi's personality.
A documentary on Mahatma Gandhi's life and achievements was screened, captivating the attention of the young audience
The school choir team's soulful rendition of the bhajan "Ragupathi Ragav Rajaram" resonated deeply with the audience.
The program was dignified by the presence of the correspondent, the headmistress, faculty members, and students.
Through his presidential address, Rev Father Robert Douza, the correspondent, eloquently illustrated Mahatma Gandhi's remarkable transition from a barrister to a champion of simplicity, humility, and selflessness.
The school HM likely emphasized the importance of Gandhi Jayanti to remind students of Gandhi's values and principles, such as truth, non-violence, and community service. These values are essential for building a better society, and Gandhi's life serves as an inspiration for people to follow in his footsteps.
The program was compered by Miss Thulasi, Miss Sowmya welcomed the gathering and Miss Joicy proposed the vote of thanks.
The program came to a close with the attendees standing together for the national anthem, filling the air with unity, love, and patriotism. This poignant finale was a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's legacy reminding everyone of the importance of national pride and unity.
