Udupi , Sep 9 : St Cecily English Medium School embraced the spirit of empowerment on Girl Child Day, celebrated on September 6th, 2024. Students of grades 6A and 7C took the stage, orchestrating a vibrant program that championed the cause of girls.

The curtains rose with a heartwarming welcome address by Manvith Shettigar of grade 7C. Anaura of reverence filled the auditorium as students invoked divine blessings through a prayer and a melodious song.

The spotlight then turned to Cecily's very own alumna, Ms. Usha H, who graced the occasion as the chief guest.Her dual role as a former student and the proud mother of Ananya (grade 6A) and Akash (grade 10) brought a sense of pride and nostalgia to the event.

The program then segued into a captivating dance performance where graceful movements of performers gracefully conveyed the message of inclusivity and respect for women. This was followed by a thought-provoking skit titled "Give Wings to Her Dreams," which showcased a young girl's unwavering determination to chase her aspirations.

The artistic presentation progressed into a powerful dance drama that resonated the profound truth: "Without a girl, there is no past, no present, and no future."

Ms. Usha then addressed the gathering, her words brimming with genuine joy and appreciation for the day’s performance. She expressed her immense pride in being associated with St Cecily’s School, both as a former student and now as a parent. She concluded by urging the students to uphold the values of respect towards their parents and teachers.

The program also included drawing and cooking without fire competitions, where participants showcased their creativity and culinary skills with awards for the best participants.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Tazmeen of grade 6A, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. St Cecily School's Girl Child Day celebration ignited a flame of empowerment in the hearts of young minds, paving the way for a brighter future for girls.
