Mangaluru, Aug 16 : The Independence Day celebration at Nazareth school on 15th August 2024 was a grand and patriotic event, reflecting the spirit of unity and love for the country. The event began at 8:30 AM with the arrival of the esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. M. B. Raja, an ex-serviceman of the Indian Army. He was received with a Guard of Honor, followed by an impressive march past by the Scouts and Guides, setting a tone of discipline and pride for the day's proceedings.

The ceremony commenced with a soulful prayer song, invoking blessings for the nation and its citizens. This was followed by a warm and heartfelt welcome address by Trisha Rai, setting the stage for the patriotic fervor that would ensue. The highlight of the event was the flag hoisting by the Chief Guest, Mr. M. B. Raja, accompanied by the National Anthem, which filled everyone present with immense pride and reverence.

Following the flag hoisting, Mr. M. B. Raja delivered an inspiring speech, sharing his experiences in the Indian Army and emphasizing the importance of patriotism and dedication towards the nation. His words resonated deeply with the audience, particularly the students.

A well-coordinated mass drill showcased the physical prowess and teamwork of the students. A speech in English by Ashwin Kumar, further inspired the audience, followed by a patriotic song that filled everyone with a deep sense of national pride.

The celebration also included the prize distribution ceremony, where winners of various competitions held in honor of Independence Day were awarded. This recognition not only encouraged the students but also added to the festive spirit of the day. Speeches in, Kannada by Pranav Rao and Hindi by Sohan Kumar, were also delivered, celebrating the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of the nation.

The Principal then delivered a message, expressing sincere appreciation towards the PTA Vice President, Mr. Ajay Terence Cardoza, and the Secretary, Ms.Ashika Takur, for their continuous support and dedication. The Principal also extended gratitude to all the staff, parents, and students for their active participation in making the event a success. Special thanks were given to Mr.Guru Prasad the Parent of Dhanik who generously contributed towards the day's refreshments.

The event was graced by the presence of the Principal, Sr. Marceline D'Souza, Sr. Vincy, Sr. Elizabeth, Management Sisters, Mr. Ajay Terence Cardoza, the Vice President of the PTA, and Mrs.Ashika Thakur, the Secretary of the PTA. Their presence added to the significance of the occasion and motivated the students to participate actively.

The celebration concluded with a vibrant patriotic dance, followed by a final round of prize distribution.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Bhavith R K, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event. The celebration was a fitting tribute to our nation's independence and a reminder of the responsibilities that come with freedom. The event left everyone present with a renewed sense of patriotism and pride in being an Indian. The programme was emceed by Ashwath Ganiga and Michelle Abraham.
