Allipade - Bantwal, Aug 16 : St. Antony English medium School celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm on August 15, 2024. The event was marked by a deep sense of patriotism and pride.

The dignitaries present for the programme were Rev. Fr. Robert D'souza, the Correspondent, Sr. Narcisa Sequira the Correspondent of St John English Medium High School, Shri Naveen Moras Vice President of the church, Mr Kiran Norenha Joint Secretary of the church, SDMC President of St. John Kannada Medium Shri Purushottama, Sarapadi Grama Panchayath members Mrs Reshma and Vince Pinto, Navoor Grama Panchayath member Mrs Lavina Moras, Sister Lavina headmistress of St Antony, Miss Vinoda headmistress of St. John and St. Antony headmistress of Sister Deepa.

The programme began with a prayer song, invoking blessings for the country and its people. The portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Ambedkar were honoured. The national flag was hoisted by the Correspondent of Rev. Fr. Robert Dsouza, escorted by the student Shanvith Pinto and accompanied by the dignitaries. The students sang Vande Mataram and the National Anthem, and the school choir added to the moment's spirit by singing 'Janda Ooncha Rahe Hamra', which filled with the atmosphere of patriotism.

To remind everyone of the significance of the day, Mushrifa of 7th delivered a thoughtful speech on the importance of the day, capturing the essence of the sacrifices made for the country's freedom. The Chief Guest of the day, Rev. Fr. Robert Dsouza, emphasized the importance of unity and responsibility among students as the future of the nation. Miss Mariya Jyothi delivered the vote of thanks. The event continued with a vibrant line up of cultural events organised by the students in the school auditorium.

A patriotic song beautifully sung by the students, which ignited a deep sense of national pride among all present. The celebration kicked off with a captivating dance, setting a positive and enthusiastic atmosphere for the day. The audience was further enthralled by a mesmerizing patriotic dance and the air was filled with nationalistic pride as students sang a melodious patriotic song. The occasion witnessed active participation from students, teachers and parents, collectively expressing reverence for the nation on this momentous day.
