Mulki, Aug 15 : It was a red –letter day in the history of India, when the country got its freedom on August 15th 1947. Every Indian celebrates this memorable day with great pomp every year.

Bethany English Medium Higher Primary School, Kilpady, Mulki celebrated Independence Day on 15th August 2014 with great enthusiasm, joy and pomp.
On this special occasion, the programme started with a prayer song followed by flag hoisting by Rev.Fr.Maxim Pinto, SVD , Administrator of Divine call center. Mr.Vikas Shetty, President Grama Panchayath Kilpady, Mrs Joshna D Almeida, the vice president of PTA and Sr.Rita Sharal the Headmistress were present for the same.

The students of class 7th performed a series of brilliant acts such as theme play, dance, song and other enactments to uplift the sense of human excellence, oneness and nationalism in all our hearts.

Rev.Fr.Maxim Pinto SVD and Mr.Vikas Shetty addressed the gathering appealing to their nationalistic spirit and urging them to take pride in being an Indian and fulfilling one's duty with responsibility. They also emphasized the role of youth today as the true wealth of a country.

Indeed , it was a momentous day, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience freedom, peace and unity in diversity.

The program was compered by Mrs.Malathi and the vote of thanks was proposed by Sr.Jyothi.
