Kinnigoli, June 4, 2024 : The inaugural ceremony for the first day of school at St Mary's Central School on June 1 was a momentous occasion, bringing together management, students and teachers to celebrate the beginning of a new educational journey. The event was designed to welcome students warmly and set the tone for an exciting academic year.

The ceremony commenced with a heartfelt welcome address by Mrs.Shetty Veena and Mrs. Shalini Dsouza. They expressed their excitement about the school's opening and shared the vision for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.

Mrs Mable Lobo and other faculty members led the opening prayer followed by Prayer Service, seeking blessings for the students, staff, and the school community. Their words focused on unity, wisdom, and the importance of education.

A series of cultural performances added vibrancy to the event. Highlights included a welcome dance, a skit on good manners and action songs all performed by the teachers.

Mrs Dinate D'souza introduced the new students and the teaching staff, each of them were called on stage and were presented with a flower by the Principal as a token of love. This segment aimed to familiarize students with their teachers and foster a sense of community.

Rev. Fr Lancy Joel Saldanha, Principal of St Marys Central School, delivered an inspiring keynote address. He spoke about the importance of embracing challenges, the value of curiosity, and the role of education in personal growth.

Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, Correspondent of St Marys Central School, addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of school in one's life and motivated the teachers and the children to do their best.

Mrs Julie Rebello delivered the closing remarks, expressing gratitude to all attendees and encouraging students to make the most of their educational opportunities. She emphasized the school’s commitment to supporting each student's growth and success.
