Mangaluru, Feb 23, 2024 : The Pulses Day Program, organized by Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School Kotekar, aimed to raise awareness about the nutritional and environmental benefits of incorporating pulses into our daily diets. The event showcased the students' commitment to promoting healthy living and sustainable food choices. The program was conducted by the students of Grade II C.
The event began with an invocation for God's blessings, in the presence of School Principal Sr. Jacintha Desa, Coordinator Sr. Ashwina Almeida, and Chief Guest Ms. Vanisha. The significance of the day was highlighted by Manasvi Poojary .They presented captivating traditional dances and musical performances, incorporating pulses-related themes to add a cultural touch to the event. Entertaining and informative skits were performed, illustrating the journey of pulses from cultivation to consumption. The dramatic presentations effectively conveyed the importance of pulses in a way that resonated with the audience.
The guest speaker shared insights on the importance of pulses in achieving a well-rounded diet and reducing the carbon footprint. Ms Vanisha mentioned that pulses are nutritional powerhouses, packed with proteins, fiber, and essential nutrients, contributing to a well-balanced and healthy diet. Embracing pulses in our daily meals not only supports personal well-being but also addresses the pressing issue of malnutrition on a global scale.
The gathering was welcomed by Darshal while Samrat and Theertha compered the program. Neeksha thanked the audience. The Pulses Day Program organized by the Grade II C students successfully achieved its goal of promoting awareness about the nutritional and environmental benefits of pulses.
