Mangaluru, Jan 13, 2024 : “A little progress each day adds up to big results”.

The LKG facilitators of Mount Carmel Central School, Maryhill, Mangaluru make every effort to ensure that their students make little progress day by day adding up to big results. Weeklong activities were conducted to teach them different concepts in a creative way.

The students of LKG C had an outdoor activity based story session ‘Dog and the Bone’ followed by enacting the story. The session was enjoyed by the children and they were able to understand the story quickly. The masks of the characters in the story set a thrilling and exciting atmosphere among the children.

The prerequisite for reading was well planned and implemented for the students of LKG B as they enjoyed the activity of blending sounds to read two letter word ‘am’, followed by activities to read sentences using these two letter words. In the end, students confidently read sentences with two letter ‘am’ word.

The days of the week were taught in a creative VAKT (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic and Tactile) method. The LKG A students had a number of activities and teaching material which supported the learning. The spinning wheel and the rhymes spiked this activity. The children were able to say the days of the week fluently.

While the tiny tots enjoyed the activities together with learning, the mentors realized that the Activity based teaching truly makes learning for smaller kids joyful and meaningful.
