Mangaluru, Jul 25 : Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore during his Pastoral Visit to St Lawrence Church Bondel, inaugurated the centenary year celebrations by unveiling the Logo on Sunday, 24th July 2022, after the mass at 9.30 am.

Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha , Rev Fr Andrew Leo D'Souza Parish Priest , Rev Fr Peter Gonsalves Principal St Lawrence English Med. School, Rev Fr Lancy D’Souza Asst Priest, Rev Fr Trishan D’Souza Bishop's Secretary , Mr. Reginald D'Souza Vice President , Mr Steevan Noronha secretary Parish Pastoral Council and Mr Stany Alvares President Jubilee committee were present.

St Lawrence Church, Bondel was established on April 10, 1923.

The meaning of various components in centenary logo is as follows :

• The red strip symbolizes Centenary celebration of St Lawrence Church Bondel (1923 -2023).
• St Lawrence image in the center symbolizes agriculture, farming which was the main occupation of the elderly parishioners from whom the parish has got Strong Faith and hence has progressed to this centenary year.
• The quote at the top : "IN LOVING FAITHFUL SERVICE" gives a message that “Faithful in service to God by exercising our spiritual gift in resurrection, for the building up of the church".
• The quote at the bottom : "TOWARDS THE KINGDOM OF GOD” conveys the message that "As parishioners we are Working for the Kingdom of God, living as followers of Jesus Christ".
