Moodbidri, March 17, 2025 – The Catholic Women's Association, in collaboration with the Catholic Sabha and the United Group of Corpus Christi Church, celebrated Women's Day with great enthusiasm on March 16.

The day began with the Way of the Cross at 7 a.m., followed by the Holy Eucharistic Mass, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Onil D'Souza. The liturgy was conducted by the Women's Association. After the mass, breakfast was served to all gathered for the formal stage program.

The stage program commenced at 9 a.m. The dignitaries included Rev. Fr. Onil D'Souza, Dr. Hana Alva (Director, Alva's Hospital, Moodbidri), Mr. Vincent D'Souza (Vice President, Corpus Christi Church), Ayog Convener Mrs. Celine D'Souza, Catholic Sabha President Mr. Ronald Serrao, Mr. John Barboza, Mrs. Leena Pinto, and Mrs. Gracy Lasrado. They were escorted to the stage by Women's Cell President Mrs. Jacintha Monis. The program began with a prayer song, followed by Mrs.Jacintha Monis welcoming the guests with bouquets of flowers. The event was officially inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp.

In his presidential address, Rev. Fr. Onil D'Souza praised the vital role of women in society and encouraged them to continue their contributions as wives, mothers, and sisters. Teachers Mrs. Mabel Fernand and Mrs. Ida Pereira were felicitated for receiving the Best Teacher Award.

Dr. Hana Alva conducted a seminar on women's health, addressing various health issues and providing valuable healthcare advice. Mrs. Gracy Lasrado delivered the vote of thanks. The event concluded with engaging games, and Mrs. Agnes D'Sa compered the program.
