Borimar - Bantwal, Sep 5 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) unit of St Joseph Church Borimar celebrated Teachers' day on September 1, 2024.
The program commenced after holy mass at 9:30am in the church premises. The program began with the prayer song led by ICYM members. Unit president welcomed the gathering. The dignitaries on the dais included Rev. Fr. Naveen Prakash Dsouza , parish priest ; Rev. Fr. Lawrence Martis, former priest of Borimar parish; Steevan Alwin Pais, PPC secretary; Alias Pereira, Coordinator of all commissions; Princita Dsouza and Vinisha Mascarenhas, president and secretary of ICYM Borimar unit.
On behalf of all ICYM members, Reon Monis, a member of ICYM Borimar, extended warm wishes and appreciation to teachers.
Mr. Ronald Monis, Mr. Charles Veigas and Mrs. Janet Lasrado shared their personal journeys of becoming teachers, highlighting the challenges, rewards, and the passion that drives them in their profession.
Fr. Lawrence Martis, our esteemed chief guest, shared an uplifting message with the teachers and offered blessings for their career.
The parish priest Rev. Fr. Naveen Prakash Dsouza organized some spot games for the teachers, and as a token of love, remembrance gifts were given to all 22 teachers present. The unit secretary delivered the vote of thanks, and Velisha Dsouza served as the MC for the program.
At the end breakfast was served for all the parishioners.
