Bantwal, Dec 2 : “Sports give power and strength, and if you want to be the best, you have to learn how to handle the worst.” With the same thought, the spectacular event of the school Annual Sports Day 2023-24 was inaugurated with great enthusiasm at Loretto English Medium High School. President Rev Fr Francis Crasta Joint Secretary for the Loretto Eng Med School, Chief Guest Rev Fr Valerian Dsouza Parish Priest Infant Jesus Church Modankap, Mr Cyprian Dsouza Vice President Parish Council, Mr Sachin Noronha PTA Vice President were Present on the Dais.

The guests were escorted by the school band followed by the March fast. Students walked rhythmically to the band beats and the school flag was brought in procession which was hoisted later. The school children invoked God's blessings through prayer. The students performed the drill using hoops, dumbbells and laicism.

After inaugurating the sports day by opening the pingara flower and declaring sports day open Rev Fr Valerian Dsouza in his speech said that, “Education is not only mental activity. It consists of all the areas. Today we spend most of the time on the ground involving ourselves in the activities which is more important since it frames our lifestyle.

Distributing the flowers as a token of love the donors Rev Fr Francis Crasta President of the function said that, “Sports that which place a vital role in the life of a student and frames one’s life tuning the discipline and thus achieve something great in life”.

Mrs Philomena Pinto compered the programme, Mrs Violet Rodrigues welcomed the gathering and Mr Padmanabha Mayya the Physical Education Tutor proposed the vote of thanks.

Soon after the stage programme the prizes were distributed to the lower class students who won the prizes in the various sports events and the other sports events took place as scheduled.
