Shivamogga, Jun 21, 2022 : The Diocese of Shimoga gets a Minor Seminary at Hiriyur - Bhadravati. It's a long standing dream of the Diocese to have its own Minor Seminary. Ever since Most Rev Francis Serrao SJ took over as the Bishop of the Diocese, he has shown personal interest for the vocation and formation of the seminarians. Hence he began Apostolic House for the candidates. Now the same house has been turned into a Minor Seminary for the Diocese of Shimoga.

Bishop Francis Serrao SJ inaugurated the Minor Seminary with Inaugural Holy Eucharist on Corpus Christi feast (June 19). Rev. Fr Santhosh Pereira has been appointed as its first Rector. Rev. Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque, Chancellor of the Diocese was present at the ceremony.

As the Diocese of Shimoga needs vocations, faithful are requested to pray for the vocations and support through sponsoring the seminarians formation.
