Mangaluru, Dec 17 : Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School's Sports Day unfolded with exuberance and zeal, showcasing a vibrant display of athleticism, camaraderie, and spirited competition. The event took place on December 15th and 16th, 2023, at the school premises.

The day began with a ceremonial parade in the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Raghavendra Kandlur, and Joint Secretary, Sr. Juliana Mary AC, as well as members of the PTA Executive Committee and a few parents of the students. The students proudly marched onto the grounds, adorned in their house colors, creating a vibrant kaleidoscope of team spirit. The air was filled with excitement as the athletes prepared themselves for a day filled with various track and field events.

The track events commenced with electrifying sprint races, where speed, determination, and grit were on full display. From the explosive 100-meter dash to the exhilarating relay races, the athletes showcased their prowess and competitive spirit, captivating the audience with their remarkable performances.

Simultaneously, the field events took place on adjacent grounds, featuring awe-inspiring displays of strength and precision. The long jump, high jump, shot put, and javelin throw showcased the students' diverse talents and dedication to their chosen disciplines.

The highlight of the day was the fiercely contested Drill display competition, which took place on December 16th, where teamwork and unity took center stage. Sr. Maria Sheetal AC presided over the function, and Sr. Juliana Mary AC, Joint Secretary, PTA Executive Committee members, and parents of the students were present. The cheering and encouragement from fellow classmates created an atmosphere of unbridled support, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie among the participants.

The Sports Day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, honoring the remarkable achievements and sportsmanship displayed by the participants. Trophies, medals, and certificates were awarded to the outstanding athletes, acknowledging their dedication, perseverance, and exemplary performances throughout the day.
