Permannur - Mangaluru, Aug 29 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Permannur unit successfully conducted a blood donation camp on 25th August 2024 at St. Sebastian Eng. Med School Hall.
The program began with a heartfelt prayer song by ICYM members, setting a spiritual tone for the event. The camp was inaugurated by lighting the lamp, symbolizing the illumination of hope and life. V. Rev. Fr Cyprian Pinto, Parish Priest, St Sebastian Church, Permannur presided over the program. Mr. Arun Dsouza Vice President, Parish pastoral Council, Dr. Elizabeth Fr. Muller’s blood bank officer, Mr Rayan Dsouza, Animator, Vice-President Mr. Jaison Dsa and Secretary Ms. Nishitha Lobo were present on the dais.
Preemal Dsouza delivered a warm welcome speech, emphasizing the importance of blood donation. Rev. Fr. Cyprian Pinto, in his presidential speech, highlighted the significance of selfless service and encouraged youth to continue their good work. Dr. Elizabeth, the guest of honor, shared valuable insights on the medical aspects of blood donation and its impact on recipients. Nishitha Lobo proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to donors, volunteers, and guests for their support. Ms.Nishmitha Dsouza compered the Program.
53 units of blood were collected during the camp, with 61 donors participating in the noble cause.
The event aimed to promote social responsibility and encourage youth to donate blood, thereby saving lives. The blood donation camp was a resounding success. The event demonstrated the youth's commitment to social responsibility and their willingness to make a difference. After the camp , Group Photo was taken with the Fr. Muller’s Hospital team.
