Gurpur - Kaikamba, Aug 2 : The Bishop of Mangalore Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, visited Our Lady of Pompei Church, Gurpur Kaikamba, on the 27th and 28th of July, 2024. This two-day visit was marked by the enthusiastic involvement of parishioners and the ICYM-PYC Gurpur Unit.

On the evening of July 27th, parishioners and the ICYM-PYC Gurpur Unit members warmly welcomed the Bishop. The activities began with teachings from the Bishop, followed by the Confirmation Ceremony and the celebration of the Holy Eucharistic Mass. Representatives from the ICYM-PYC Gurpur Unit, including the President, Animator, and other members participated in the Parish Pastoral Council meeting alongside the Bishop. Next, the Bishop verified documents from all parish organizations, including the ICYM-PYC Gurpur Unit, and provided positive feedback.

The second day, July 28th, saw 47 youngsters from the ICYM-PYC Gurpur Unit participating in the Bishop's teachings and the Holy Eucharistic Mass with the parishioners. The day's events included meetings of various parish organizations, where Lester Menezes, President of the ICYM-PYC Gurpur Unit, presented a summary report covering the years 2017 to 2024. Animator, Mr. Godwin Tauro accompanied the youngsters for the same. The Bishop congratulated the youth for their active participation and commended the strength and commitment of the youth club.
