Omzoor, March 31, 2024 : Easter Vigil was celebrated at Holy Family Church, Omzoor, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, on the eve of March 30th, at 7.00 pm. The Easter Vigil Service mainly had four parts: The Liturgy of Light; the Liturgy of the Word of God; renewal of baptismal vows and the Holy Eucharist.

Before the festive mass, the ‘New fire’ was blessed and the Paschal Candle was lit from the new fire and was carried to the altar in a procession. The faithful present lit the candles from the flame, illuminating the area in candlelight.

The Holy Eucharist was concelebrated by Rev. Fr Antony Shera, Secretary C.B.E and Rev. Fr Alwyn D’Cunha, the parish priest. The Scripture readings highlighted salvation history.

Holy water was blessed and sprinkled on the faithful present after renewing their baptismal vows. Main sponsors were felicitated with the blessed candles. Fr Alwyn D’Cunha extended his Easter greetings to all the parishioners.
