Mangaluru, Nov 21, 2023 : In the dynamic world of sports, the athletes of St Agnes PU College have showcased exceptional competence and determination in various disciplines, with notable achievements in Table Tennis, Throw ball, Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Wrestling, Karate, Floor ball and more.

At the State Level Freestyle Wrestling Tournament held at Karwar, Anusha and Ananya Ashokan garnered the third prize in the 53kg weight category and in the 76kg weight category, Noha clinched the first place and has been selected for the National Level. These girls have proved their mettle and ensured that they are a force to reckon with.

In the State Level Belt Wrestling Tournament held at Bangalore, Anusha has emerged as the winner having secured the prestigious first place in the 45kg weight category. Additionally, she has qualified for the National Level. Deeksha’s stellar performance earned her the ‘numerouno’ place and she too has been selected for the National Level. Prajna got second place, while Archi clinched the third prize. Their dedication to the sport is very praiseworthy and the win displays their skill and tenacity. 

In the Taluk Level Throwball Tournament organized by St Aloysius P U College, the college team secured the Second Place, andAnusha secured the ‘Best Receiver’ award. Anusha, Kripa and Brinita have been duly selected for the District Level.

In the District Level Table Tennis Tournament organized by Govindadasa P U College, the District Team emerged victorious. The students Nahla Fathima and Prapthi were a part of the team and Nahla Fathimahas been selected for the State Level.

In the Taluk Level Table Tennis Tournament organized by Govindadasa P U College, the college team secured second place. Nahla Fathima and Prapthi were selected for the District Level.

In the Dasara Cup Table Tennis Tournament conducted by DYES, Mysore, Nahla Fathima secured the Second Place in Table Tennis doubles and Third Place in the Team Event. She also won the First Place in Team and Doubles and Third Place in singles in the Mysore Dasara Cup conducted by Karnataka Olympic Association.

The girls have demonstrated a commendable competitive spirit and their achievements are a source of inspiration to other aspiring table tennis enthusiasts.
In the District Level Throwball Tournament, the team bagged the First Place and Kripa has been selected for the State Level.

In the Alosiad Throwball and Volleyball Match organized by St Aloysius College, Autonomous, the college Team secured the Second Place. Anusha was the recipient of the ‘Best Receiver’ award in Throwball and Huligemma was awarded the ‘Best All Rounder’ in Volleyball.

In the Taluk Level Volleyball Tournament organized by Sri Ramakrishna P U College, the Volleyball Team bagged the Second Place. Huligemma secured the ‘best All Rounder’ award. Huligemma, Tanvi and Vaishnavi have been selected for the District Level.

In the District Level Volleyball Tournament, the District Team garnered the First Place and Huligemma is selected for the State Level.

In the District Level Football Tournament, Rimin and Saanvi are selected for the State Level.

The college had the proud privilege of hosting the District Level Wrestling Tournament in which the college won the ‘Winners Trophy’. In Freestyle Wrestling Ananya, Noha, Anusha, Deeksha, Prerana garnered the First Place and have been selected for the State Level.

In the State Level Freestyle Wrestling Tournament organised by Halyal PU College, Karwar, Noha garnered the First Place and is selected for the National Level. Anusha and Ananya bagged the Third place. In Belt Wrestling Anusha, Deeksha, Ananya, Archi and Prajna bagged the First Place and are selected for the State Level.

In the District Level Floorball selection match held at Yedapadavu PU College the student Moksha has qualified for the State Level.

The students have played exceptionally well and made a significant impact and displayed their finesse and solidified their presence in this field by securing coveted positions.

In the District Level Karate Tournament organised by Department of School Education, Pre- University, Dakshina Kannada held at S.D.P.T PU College, Kateel. Shrika clinched the Gold Medal in the Kumite Category.

Shrika’s relentless dedication and disciplined training has reaped dividends and is an indication of her indomitable spirit.

In the Taluk Level Athletic Meet organized by Sharada PU College, Prapthi won the Second Place in Shot put and is selected for the District Level. Sanovar garnered the Second Place in Discus Throw and is selected for the District Level. She also won Third Place in Shot put. Risha secured the Second Place in 1500 meters race and is selected for the District Level.

The scintillating accomplishments of the sports achievers are an evidence of their fierce commitment to the sport.

In the District Level Basketball Tournament organized by Canara PU College, St Agnes PU College team won the Runners’ Up Trophy. Prival, Zaha and Thanglalkim’s relentless dedication and discipline has resulted in their selection for the State Level Tournament.

The achievements of the students underscores the commitment of St Agnes PU College to foster a healthy and well-rounded sporting environment.
